Introduction​:

Cold rolled stainless steel strip is made of hot rolled stainless steel strip as blank and further cold rolled. Compared with the hot rolled strip, it has higher dimensional accuracy, lower surface roughness, better surface quality, smooth, and higher strength. Therefore, the thinner cold-rolled strip can replace the thicker hot-rolled strip for the same purpose to save the amount of steel, which is of great economic significance.

How do I know if my SS is 304 or 316?

Aesthetically, there is no difference between the two; in fact, the only way to differentiate between them is to test them chemically. The main difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel is 316 SS has the addition of molybdenum.
